Furnace locks out after three ignition attempts
The furnace tries to light, quits, retries, and eventually shuts itself down entirely. On newer Sioux Falls builds this is usually a pressure switch reacting to a genuinely blocked vent — so the first thing worth checking is the PVC pipes outside, not the furnace. When the vent is clear and it still locks out, the switch itself is typically the fault. It is an inexpensive part.
